The Elbsegler, a traditional maritime hat, is a Mühlbauer classic for real or would-be captains, in any case also perfect for urban "sailing". It is made of Loden, a densely woven material with a slightly roughed up surface consisting of extra fine merino pure new wool, made by the renowned Austrian cloth maker Leichtfried. Kalle is defined by the stiffened cuff around the bottom of the crown and a hard, small visor. A double row of silk cords have been attached above the visor. The cap is lined and comfortable to wear. Kalle is worn by men and women.
